The Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement

Mission Statement:

The Patriot Guard Riders is a 100% volunteer, federally registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization which ensures dignity and respect at memorial services honoring fallen military heroes, first responders, and honorably discharged veterans.

Vision Statement:

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security, including fallen military heroes, first responders, and honorably discharged veterans. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:

1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.

2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protester or group of protesters.

We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedom of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

Subject: Warriors Weekend Event - Wednesday 7 September 2011

Greetings PGRSTX and Coastal Bend Troop Support Members,

We have a new request for a Warriors Weekend Event for Wednesday, 7 September 2011.

This event has two parts: Part 1 is "Welcome" at airport for the Warriors. Part 2 is a bike escort of the Warriors to Kingsville.

EVENT: Warriors Weekend Event "Welcome" and Escort for a fishing trip for the “Heroes Cup Fishing Tournament”

DATE:      Wednesday, 7 September 2011

TIME:      4:00 pm

LOCATION:  Corpus Christi International Airport

DETAILS:  Jonnette Kesterson with Warriors Weekend & VFW Riders, American Legion Post 99, and Kleberg County Parks & Recreation department are coordinating a Warriors Weekend Event for a fishing trip to Baffin Bay for the “Heroes Cup Fishing Tournament”. Approximately 20-25 Warriors from a base in Georgia, probably Ft Benning, will arrive at Corpus Christi International Airport on Wednesday, Sept 7th at 4:30 pm. We will meet them at the airport like we do a "Welcome Home" and then ride an escort with them to American Legion Post 99 in Kingsville. On arrival at the American Legion they, and our escorts, will be treated to dinner. We should arrive at the AL hall by around 6:00 pm and dinner (end of our mission) should be over by around 7:00 pm.

Members are requested to support either part 1, or 2 or both if/as you can. Whatever you can do will be appreciated. Hope to see you all there!

Please try to be at the airport by 4:00 pm.

NOTE: This is NOT a Wounded Warrior Project event. These Warriors are active duty Soldiers.

NOTE 2: If you are planning to participate on the escort ride and join us for dinner at the American Legion in Kingsville, please email me ASAP (no calls please, so I have a record) so I can give a head count to the caterer of the event so they know how much food to prepare. Big flags NOT required due to distance at highway speeds.

SPECIAL NOTE: IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON CC INTL. AIRPORT MISSIONS

We stage at the lower level concourse near the baggage claim area, just inside the doors at the far east end of the terminal.

If you are riding your motorcycles, do NOT park in short term parking. Take the commercial vehicle (taxi, shuttle bus) lane following the third parking exit and park in our designated area, the last parking pull-off area immediately following the third red-brick crosswalk. ONLY park motorcycles between the second and third crosswalks if the primary area is completely full. Be mindful that a FULL STOP is required at each of the three crosswalks. NOTE: There is a gate arm blocking the entrance to the commercial vehicle lane, however there is plenty of clearance room for bikes to go through. If you are on a trike please use the pick-up/drop-off lane to the second or third crosswalk and enter the commercial lane via the crosswalk to our parking area.

If you are driving your vehicle (cage), please park in the short term parking lot and provide your parking stub to the designated Ride Captain who will get it validated. On departure you must return the signed parking ticket to the attendant, sign the registry log, and identify yourself as a PGR member in the signature log.

Thanks for all you do!
