Greetings PGRSTX and Coastal Bend Troop Support Members,
UPDATE #2: PGRSTX Asst. Deputy State Capt. John Hamlinck,
and Ride Captain, Joe Diaz of the Rio Grande Valley (RGV)
chapter will be coming up from Harlingen with a group to
join us in support of this event. Asst. Lead Ride Captain,
RonPacha will meet up with them at 3:30 pm tomorrow at the
Valero Station at US 77/TX 44. Anyone coming from the
northside is most welcome to join them and ride to the
airport as a group. And one last time, if you are
planning on joining us for the dinner at the
American Legion in Kingsville and have not emailed me
yet, please do so TODAY. I am sending the organizers
my last head count at 6pm today
UPDATE: I know a lot of you want to participate but have
a problem with your work schedule. As many of us
as possible will be at the airport for the "Welcome"
at 4:00. I do not see the procession leaving the
airport prior to 5:00 pm, so if you can make there
by then you are most welcome to join the escort.
Just be sure to email me if you plan to join in on the dinner
at Kingsville American Legion. I owe them a head count.
We have a new request for a Warriors Weekend Event for
Wednesday, 7 September 2011.
This event has two parts: Part 1 is "Welcome" at airport
for the Warriors. Part 2 is a bike escort of the Warriors
to Kingsville.
EVENT: Warriors Weekend Event "Welcome" and Escort for a
fishing trip for the “Heroes Cup Fishing Tournament”
DATE: Wednesday, 7 September 2011
TIME: 4:00 pm
LOCATION: Corpus Christi International Airport
DETAILS: Jonnette Kesterson with Warriors Weekend &
VFW Riders, American Legion Post 99, and Kleberg County
Parks & Recreation department are coordinating a
Warriors Weekend Event for a fishing trip to Baffin Bay
for the “Heroes Cup Fishing Tournament”. Approximately
20-25 Warriors from a base in Georgia, probably Ft Benning,
will arrive at Corpus Christi International Airport on
Wednesday, Sept 7th at 4:30 pm. We will meet them at the
airport like we do a "Welcome Home" and then ride an escort
with them to American Legion Post 99 in Kingsville. On
arrival at the American Legion they, and our
escorts, will be treated to dinner. We should
arrive at the AL hall by around 6:00 pm and dinner
(end of our mission) should be over by around 7:00 pm.
Members are requested to support either part 1, or 2 or
both if/as you can. Whatever you can do will be appreciated.
Hope to see you all there!
Please try to be at the airport by 4:00 pm.
NOTE: This is NOT a Wounded Warrior Project event. These
Warriors are active duty Soldiers.
NOTE 2: If you are planning to participate on
the escort ride and join us for dinner at the American
Legion in Kingsville, please email me ASAP (no calls
please, so I have a record) so I can give a head count
to the caterer of the event so they know how much food
to prepare.
Big flags NOT required due to distance at highway speeds.
