The Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement

Mission Statement:

The Patriot Guard Riders is a 100% volunteer, federally registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization which ensures dignity and respect at memorial services honoring fallen military heroes, first responders, and honorably discharged veterans.

Vision Statement:

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security, including fallen military heroes, first responders, and honorably discharged veterans. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:

1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.

2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protester or group of protesters.

We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedom of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

PGR Escort Request - WW2 Silver Star Recipient

My aunt, Carol Mackey, asked me to e-mail you regarding the Patriot Guard helping in honoring my Dad, Art Nowakowksi, on Saturday, February 25 when he will finally be presented with the Commendation for the Silver Star that he should have received at the time when he was awarded the Silver Star after WWII.  Congressman Blake Farenthold will make the presentaton to Dad.  I understand there will be both local TV and and newspaper coverage of the event.

The presentation will take place at 10:00 AM on the 25th in the Recreational Hall at Fun N Sun, located at 1400 Zillock Rd., San Benito, TX 78586.

I am so excited that Dad will FINALLY be presented this Commendation after years of trying to get it for him.  Dad is 88 years old, and he is so excited about receiving his Commendation.  Having the Patriot Guard there to honor Dad will be such a wonderful surprise for him, as I would like to keep this a secret from Dad.  I know he will be overwhelmed by all the attention and all the people who will be there to honor him.

I've attached an interview that Dad gave in 2002.  It's lengthy, but it gives all the details of his service in WWII.  I'm so very proud of him, not just for his service in WWII, but as a great Dad.

Please let me know what additional information you need.  I just cannot thank you and the rest of the Patriot Guard enough for helping to make February 25th such a special day for an American hero!

God bless you and all the Patriot Guard members all over the United States who honor all of our American Heroes!!

Blessings!
Susan
